Unit 1.4 - Outcome

Front

This is my final brochure which I created for my unit, I’m really proud of this leaflet because it looks very eye catching and very professional. I really like the picture that I used in this brochure because it’s really unique and it represents the technology that’s been used in Southbank, representing the modern years. I have made the picture in a blue tinted saturation because I believed that it will suit the colour schemes in my brochure and flow very well with the picture I used of the IMAX.

The picture that I used in the front part of the poster shows the IMAX when the new harry potter was being advertise around the building. The colour schemes that it consisted were blue and black, which flows very well with he rest of my brochure. I have decided to place the IMAX image in the bottom left hand corner of the brochure and its only be shown the half.

The font I used was very up to date and modern. I have added a blue stroke around the title to show professionalism. I also added the date just underneath the title but it’s a bit smaller and this time, I the text was in blue and it had a white stroke. I have done that because it shows some difference between the title and the date. The colour of the text of the date is different shade of blue from the others so that it stands out on the page.

I have also used some brushes around the front to make my brochure very unique and stand out on the page. I have added a brush effect of a paint splash on the top left hand corner of brochure so that it would represent the art that takes place in the Southbank and how Southbank has a good relationship with art because of galleries like the Hayward gallery. I also added a brush effect of a honey comb on the top right hand corner of the brochure to show to bring out the uniqueness of the brochure.

I could have added more images on the front of my leaflet however it would look crowded and it would loose its professionalism. Some say that it looks much better just and plain and simple however some say that it looks much better with some more images at the front. Some have even gone into further details and said that I could add in a picture of a girl with the same pose, then it would show some uniqueness, also look very professional.

Middle

In the middle part, I have decided that I was going to keep the paint splash brush effect on the right hand effect and also the honey comb brush effect on the second page on the left. Both of these are going to be constant through out my whole of my brochure. I have been inspired by some brochure that are out there who keep one or two things constant through out the brochure.
I have added another picture at the bottom left of the brochure which is pretty similar to the picture at the front because I have added the same saturation and also the same person. I really though t that keeping the same person through out the poster would be really sensible thing to do. This time the person in the picture is looking up showing some expectations from Southbank which he gains. I have put the picture at the bottom and the person is looking up shows that he is looking up at the text and everything else.

On the first page, I have added the title as the IMAX because I thought that the IMAX was in the heart of Southbank and also the most important. I have written some few words about the IMAX and how it came about. On the second page, I have added the title as “Shows…” and the three dots show that there’s more. On that page, I have written about three shows that’s taking pace at the IMAX Cinema and also attached a picture next to it.

At the bottom right hand corner of the second page, I have added in some more brush effect which really modern and “Tronny”. Because one of my shows was Tron and on that page, I thought it would be really eye catching if I added in some brush effects on the same page. Most of my colleagues said that it was really good and it creates a vibrant feel for that brochure.

Back

At the back, I wanted it to be different from the others and I have done that by changing the background from black to white which means that my brochure at the back is much more unique. My title is events and the title font is different from the others because I wanted it to look very unique. I have decided that it would align with the underline underneath it and also use a different font. However I added the same font at the top left hand corner saying “more to offer…” I also have two subtitles for both of the two galleries; I have done that so that people don’t get confused when they look at my brochure.

At my back ground I have added some different striped all going the same direction and all of them are slanted. They are all different lengths as well. This creates a vibrant feel to the end bit of the brochure. I have these two boxes, one is read and the other one is blue and I have bought the opacity of it down and I have used that to show differentiate the Hayward Gallery and the Tate Modern. I have added some small pictures of the different events that I chose to advertise. At the bottom, I have attached a picture of a map of Southbank to show where everything is.

On the bottom left hand corner of the page, I have attached a picture of street artists who creates art on the streets. That picture was taken by me and I edited that photo a little bit so that it goes very well with my other pictures in the brochure. I also thought that it would make my back page look much better if I added in some brush effects because I believed that it would create some fluency in the back page of the brochure. I added in some brush effects which consisted of claws which goes from one corner to another.
