Design Brief - Scene

The brief is about understanding different creative and media roles through the south bank, this consists of wither architecture, artist, or musicians.
since it is located in London, there are a lot of media and creative roles in London.
This is the four Learning out come for this project...

-Learning outcome 1: Understanding the range and types of creative and media activity in South Bank.
-Learning outcome 2: Understanding creative and media employment roles and requirements in South Bank.
-Learning outcome 3: To be able to develop a personal critical response to a creative or media artefact, activity or event.
-Learning outcome 4: To be to create a guide to the creative and media scene in South Bank.

Learning Log - 01/10/10

Strengths- My strengths were that, I kind of had a clue what the brief ahead of me was about.
I clearly understood what my final outcome had to be.

I also knew what trap I would fall in when I am doing my posters, this meant that I had good idea of what routes to take to end with a nice poster which I really hope for.

Weaknesses- I didn't finish my first piece of research on the computer but I managed to look around some websites and find small facts which stuck to my mind but I never applied them onto Microsoft word. I didn't listen to the brief properly so I might have missed some main bits that I should be aware of.

Things to do- I need to make sure that I listen properly so that I don't need to be scared if I have missed any important bits on the speech. I should also learn to apply what I have learnt to written form on wither paper or Microsoft Word.

Unit 1.1 - Research on the Range and Types of Creative and Media Activity in the Southbank

This is my list of sources which I have gathered and I briefly explained what I received from each website.

http://www.bfi.org.uk/ - This is the website for the British Film Institute and this also will lead you into both the IMAX Website and also the BFI South bank. This website hold great information about the film shows and even extra information that you need to know. This website also shows how to get there by both car and the public transport.

http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/venues/royal-festival-hall - This is the royal festival hall website and this holds necessary information about the events that's taking place and going to. This website provides information about travelling to the place and also buying tickets to attend the events that's taking place. They also talk about the features that they offer inside the Royal Festival Hall for example the WiFi that they offer.

http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/ - This is just the basic website of the South Bank centre and it holds information about the whole of South Bank for example travelling and accessbility. It has a map which is linked with Google which means that you can plan a route around the centre perfectly making your journey more fun and don't worry about getting lost.

http://www.ukfilmcouncil.org.uk/ - This is a agency which makes sure that films that run in cinemas are reliable and they cover some parts of the aspect required. This council is like the ASA but the ASA is for Advertisements and the UK Film Council is for Films

Learning Log - 15/10/10

Strengths- My Strengths on this lesson is that I had a quite good attitudes towards surfing the website and extracting key information from that source. I also know the way around the website which a makes it easier for me to find the information. I also had a pretty decent view ahead on what I was going to do in this lesson.

Weaknesses- My weaknesses were that I was easily distracted by other people who kept calling me over for help or something amusing was happening around their computer table. I was listening to music on ma phone which i meant that I was caught up on changing it all the time which wasted most of my time.

Things to do- Next time, I will make sure that my phone is in the bag and turned off so that I don't get disturbed by it. I make sure that, I concentrate on my work and my work only so that I finish what I was set out to finish.

Its only the Hayward Gallery which caught my eye, it was also the street performances which was very attracting and you can stay around watching it all day. One of my favourite performances is a group of people playing different instruments and the instruments were from their culture. The Music can be heard from very far away and you can almost follow your ears. On the bank of the river there were loads of mini shows. There was a moving person statue which only moves when you put in money and they cant are fooled even though they are behind thick clothing and a mask. The street performances and all the creative and media places make South Bank a diverse and attractive place for the people who show interest in the Creative and Media Sector. There’s a bit init for the people who has come South Bank for Entertainment. The BFI IMAX holds the biggest screens in UK and they take 3D to the next level which is Polarized 3D.

Learning Log - 22/10/10

Strengths- In today's lesson, My strengths were that I was capable to set my individual targets which I set my self for this lesson which was to concentrate and put the phone away. I manage to concentrate on my work and finish everything of because of the research I have done previously. I took advantage of my research and this is a big step up form because I normally don't go with my plan.

Weaknesses-My weaknesses were that I didn't manage to follow my other target which was to put my phone away and avoid listening to music because I realised I couldn't work as quick as I would with headphones in my ear. I also need to work on the structure of my work so my work is very outstanding and to a high standard working towards the professional standard.

Things to do- Before next time, I will have to improve on my English and keep on Improving which will be helpful at both school and college. I need to fulfil my targets completely.
